I’ve had many of these types of mats over the last few years and this one is by far the nicest. It is super absorbent, all the water goes away very fast, and it feels the most high end.

I can't really attest to any kind of sanitary science that has been put forth with the conjunction of using diatomaceous earth with this kind of product. But I honestly think that it's really neat, especially when utilized in a situation where non-slip is a huge advantage. Such as individuals who are older, or somehow disabled. Sure, rugs are a viable options of this, but they absorb water and not in the same way as this mat. They also will smell bad if not properly cared for. These topics aren't a concern at all when you're utilizing a diatomaceous earth mat. The water is instantly absorbed, you can literally watch it absorb and dry when you step off of it. There's not any real direct cleaning that's necessary, unless you have stepped on it with muddy feet. Or other particulate matter attached to your feet. I figure as long as you keep it in the bathroom, you probably shouldn't have any issues keeping it spotless. It's a really good size, but I am concerned how easily it might break if not placed on a perfectly flat floor, or in the event that some sort of rock or other hard item finds its way underneath it. And then someone steps on it. But that hasn't come up, it's just a concern that I have considered. Overall I definitely recommend it, especially for the price.
I quite like these. They were part of my first experience with DE drying mats.One thing I noticed about them is that they warp. It's not unique to this mat. I got a dish drying mat from another brand and the same issue. The only improvement I would recommend is the front and back to be symmetrical so they can be flipped without noticing. You flip it for a while until the warp goes away, or even wait until it warps in the other direction, then flip it and reverse it (I couldn't help myself)Also, if you look at the top of my photo, the mat seemed to have marked my caulking on the outside of the tub. I am sure I can get it off, but I recommend not pushing it all the way to the caulking of the tub if you have a similar setup.Now to the positives.It really does absorb the heck out of the water.It's hard material so it is easy to wipe clean, vacuum, or rinse.It comes with a thin silicone (I think) mesh for it to grip to the floor. I use it, but not sure you need it. Maybe the millimeter lift it provides is also for better ventilation?It also comes with a little sanding disk for removing stains and "rejuvenating" when it stops absorbing well, but that hasn't happened to me yet. I assume the skin oils might eventually clog it a bit.
